AEP Ohio withdraws from resolution of 2009 Significantly Excessive Earnings Test
AEP Ohio, a unit of American Electric Power, has withdrawn an agreement reached in late November with several parties that would have resolved pending cases in front of the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO), including the company’s Significantly Excessive Earnings Test (SEET), Fuel Adjustment Clause (FAC) audit cases, and the merger application for Columbus Southern Power (CSP) and Ohio Power.

Agreement recognizes 2009 earnings were not significantly excessive
AEP Ohio, a unit of American Electric Power, has reached an agreement today with several parties involved in the company’s Significantly Excessive Earnings Test (SEET) that will freeze rates previously authorized to increase up to 6 percent in 2011 for Columbus Southern Power (CSP) customers, create jobs, provide additional assistance for low-income customers, and increase investment in Ohio. The stipulation agreement requires approval by the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO).

SWEPCO Finalizes Purchase Of VEMCO – Lower Rates For VEMCO Customers Begin In October
American Electric Power utility subsidiary AEP Southwestern Electric Power Company (SWEPCO) finalized the purchase of Valley Electric Membership Corporation (VEMCO) for approximately $102 million, including payment for VEMCO patronage capital, commonly known as capital credits, after closing of sale. VEMCO serves 30,000 residential, commercial and industrial customers in Caddo, DeSoto, Grant, Natchitoches, Red River, Sabine, Vernon and Winn parishes.
