Senior Vice President - Federal Affairs
Emily Duncan is AEP's senior vice president, Federal Affairs, and is responsible for managing relationships with federal government officials, members of Congress, various federal regulatory agencies and industry trade groups. She is based in the company's Washington, D.C. office.
Prior to her current role, she served as vice president, Government Relations, and head of the Washington, D.C. office of National Grid, an electric and natural gas company with customers in Massachusetts and New York. Previously, she was director of Government Affairs & Counsel at the Solar Energy Industries Association, the national trade association for the solar industry. Before joining SEIA, Emily was an energy attorney at Winston & Strawn LLP in Washington, D.C. and represented various utilities and development companies before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.
She is former chair of the board of the Business Council for Sustainable Energy (BCSE) and has served on the boards of several non-profit organizations. She graduated from the University of Pennsylvania and earned a law degree from Duke University.
